Approximately 1,000 people attended the annual Discover Saddleback event in the Quad on Saturday, April 22. Saddleback's wide variety of programs and services, including academic divisions, career and community education, and health and wellness resources were well represented and engaged throughout the day with prospective students of all ages, family members, and alumni.
Attendees enjoyed complimentary food from TK Burger and Archie’s Ice Cream, and free Saddleback T-shirts and other promotional items provided at the various tables and tents.
The Chemistry department’s live experiments held in a Sciences lab were a popular attraction, as were the Cosmetology program’s manicure and hair styling services. All booths experienced steady foot traffic throughout the four-hour event, which benefitted from perfect weather.
Previously, Discover Saddleback was held on a weekday and primarily targeted high school seniors who came in large groups from their schools. The event’s move to a Saturday proved extremely successful, as parents came with children and adult community members were able to attend and explore career opportunities.
