Saddleback College students have the unique opportunity to attend California State University (CSU) or University of California (UC) campuses while they are still at Saddleback College.
Senate Bill 1914 Postsecondary Education: Cross Enrollment Program legislation (California Education Code 66750 through 66756) permits undergraduate students enrolled in any campus of the California Community Colleges, the California State University, or the University of California to enroll without formal admission in a maximum of one (1) course per academic term at a campus of either of the other systems on a space-available basis. Participation by college is voluntary and both schools must be participating in this program before a student can take a course at another institution for a discounted fee plus any material or lab fees.
To participate in the Cross-Enrollment program, you must:
- Be a California resident
- Have completed at least 12 units at Saddleback College as a matriculated student
- Have earned a 2.0 grade point average for all work completed at Saddleback College
- Be enrolled in at least 6 units at Saddleback College for the term you plan to take a class at the CSU or UC
- Have paid all fees owed to Saddleback College for the current term; and
- Have completed any prerequisites needed to take the classes at the CSU or UC. The host school will make the determination regarding prerequisite completion.
How to Participate
- Obtain the cross-enrollment application from the university in which you wish to take a class. Many Cal States and UCs participate in cross-enrollment.
- Submit the completed cross-enrollment application to Saddleback College Admissions and Records Office for eligibility verification by attaching it to the Cross Enrollment E-From.
- Follow the instructions on the application to cross enroll at the UC or CSU campus.
- To use the course you take at a university towards Saddleback College degrees, certificates, or transfer GE requirements, request an official transcript be sent to: Saddleback College
