The Dance program at Saddleback College is presented in an active learning environment where students are trained in both dance technique and dance theory to prepare them for future careers in the performing arts or related fields. Courses cover major dance technique forms, choreography, dance production, dance history, and somatic practices. The dance degree program will prepare students to transfer to a four-year institution to pursue an baccalaureate or higher degree in dance or a related field and/or entry into the dance field, as a performer with professional companies or touring productions, a teacher at a dance studio, or a choreographer.
Mainstage dance concerts are presented each semester, giving dance students further opportunities to apply their dance technique, creativity, and choreography skills.
