Seven players from the 2022 Saddleback Bobcats football team earned California Community College Football Coaches Association (CCCFA) Academic All-State honors, announced March 6.
Hiram deFries-Saronitman, Connor Grace, Roee Lachmish, Gavin Raab, Zadi Sekander and Kyle Thomas were each recognized by CCCFA for their achievements in the classroom. To qualify, each player must have a cumulative 3.5 GPA.
Grace and Lyon each had 4.0 GPAs, making Saddleback the only team in the state with multiple players with perfect GPAs. Thomas, a defensive back, will play at Northern Arizona University this fall, while offensive lineman Lachmish has committed to Bryant University in Smithfield, R.I.
Saddleback’s seven players on the Academic All-State Team tied Coach Kerry Crabb’s Bobcats with San Diego Mesa for the most by a college in the southern half of California.
