Saddleback College’s Nursing Program is ranked first in the nation in pass rates of the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX), the nationwide exam for licensing registered nurses. A recent report of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing, which administers the NCLEX examination, reveals that Saddleback’s pass rate is first out of 108 nursing programs in California, first out of 640 Associate Degree programs in the nation, and first out of 1,308 Bachelor’s and Associate Degree programs in the nation!
Additionally, graduates of Saddleback’s nursing program achieved a 100 percent first-time pass rate on the NCLEX exam. Evaluated on a quarterly basis, Saddleback has achieved a 100 percent first-time pass rate for the last four licensure exams.
Dr. Elliot Stern, President of Saddleback College, said, “Year over year, Saddleback’s nursing students perform extraordinarily well on the nursing licensure exam and that’s due in large part to our dedicated faculty. Our graduates go on to work throughout our community and represent the competency and empathetic care that is the standard in the Saddleback nursing program.”
Anne Lawson, Director of Nursing and Assistant Dean of the School of Health and Wellness, said, “This is an amazing accomplishment for our nursing students, who exemplify professionalism in nursing: They put patients first, communicate effectively, maintain a positive attitude, and uphold the standard of care. This is what we strive for in training nurses who contribute to the well-being of our community.”
