Women's History Month Panel
Wednesday, March 5, from 12 to 2 p.m. in SSC 212
The Associated Student Government will host a Women's History Month Panel featuring accomplished women from various career paths who will share their experiences, challenges, and insights into their professions.
Writer and Performance Artist: Ebony Stewart
Performance: Thursday, March 6, from 3 p.m. in SSC 212
Open Mic: Thursday, March 6 at 5 p.m. in SSC 212
Help us bridge the end of Black History Month and the beginning of Women’s History Month with a performance and workshop from Ebony Stewart. As a Black womxn writer and performance artist, Stewart harnesses the power of creativity to explore and challenge societal norms, personal identity, and the intersectionality of her experiences. Stewart has many accolades, including being a Woman of the World Poetry Slam Champion. Her work has been featured in The Root, For Harriet, AfroPunk, Teen Vogue, and seen on Button Poetry.
Ebony will host a workshop and perform her work at 3 p.m. Then, join the Creative Writing Club at the open mic at 5 p.m.
One Book, One College Panel Discussion
Thursday, March 27, at 10:30 a.m. in SSC 212
The Gender and Sexuality Studies (GSS) department and the One Book, One College Committee are hosting a panel discussion in celebration of Women's History Month titled "A Women's History Month Panel: Why the Gender Binary is Problematic; Pronouns, Why They Matter (Now, More than Ever); and Conversations Inspired by the Book 'The 57 Bus.'"
This roundtable event will feature faculty members from Psychology, History, GSS, and Political Science departments. It is open to the entire campus community, and light snacks will be provided.
