Biography

Riley Phelps has proudly served Saddleback College students since 2018, starting first as a student worker and then growing into her current role as a Success Coach for the Promise Program. A proud graduate of a Laguna Hills High School and Saddleback College alumna, Riley was raised in Orange County and brings both lived experience and data-informed strategies to her work—ensuring first-time college students feel seen, supported, and set up for success.

After spending time studying in Oregon and Ohio and earning her bachelor’s degree in management and leadership, Riley returned to Saddleback with a clear mission: to help make college free, fun, and accessible for the next generation of Bobcats! She knows firsthand how transformative college can be—and is passionate about creating equitable and joyful experiences for all students.

As part of a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI), Riley is committed to building welcoming spaces that reflect the diverse needs of Saddleback’s student body. She believes that while data can guide decision-making, compassion should always lead the way. In addition to her role as a Success Coach, Riley serves in multiple leadership roles as a Saddleback Cares Ambassador, Vice President of the Classified Senate Executive Leadership Team, and 2025 Secretary for CSEA Chapter 586 unit.
