AMVETS - VETS Supporter

The AMVETS organization is a founding supporter of the Saddleback College VETS Program and college Veterans services in southern California. Many returning Veterans are often overwhelmed with the confusing system of accessing all of their benefits and entitlements; however, the Saddleback College VETS Program with our relationship with AMVETS continues to bring support to our community’s Veterans by helping them navigate transition to civilian life.

John Castillo, a Veteran Service Officer from AMVETS who is pictured below, offers appointments once a week in the VETS Program (SSC 207). He explains and assists our Veterans with information on disability compensation, healthcare benefits, and other entitlements. Though we have our own Certifying Officials who will help you with your Educational Benefits in AGB 131, John is here to assist you with accessing all other benefits and entitlements which you have earned through your service. If you are a Veteran and would like to make an appointment with Mr. Castillo please call the VETS Center at (949)582-4252.

AMVETS has also donated over $10,000 and several hours of volunteerism on campus. In addition AMVETS Post 116 Women Veterans Esteem Program and AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary #116 sponsors our Women’s Unity Group which is held the final Tuesday of every month in the VETS Center, SSC-207. Thank you AMVETS for helping Saddleback College serve those who have served us!
