Internships

Earn while you learn!

We have a new opportunity this semester to provide paid internships for child development students enabling them to "earn while they learn" at the Saddleback Child Development as teacher assistants and as assistants to the Child Development Faculty.

Positions are 20 hours per week, schedule to be determined by the center director. Rate of pay will be $10.00 per hour. Positions are for one semester each and are renewable. Students in CDES 110 and 121 may use the internship hours to meet their lab hour requirement.   To be eligible students must:

  1. Be Child Development majors at Saddleback College
  2. Be currently enrolled in at least 12 units (child development or general education)
  3. Have completed or be in progress this semester of completing 24 units of early childhood education/child development units.

To be considered, students must:

  1. Email a statement of interest to childdev@saddleback.edu
    1. Include a list of completed and currently enrolled classes (transcripts will be required for chosen interns)
    2. Include a 200 word statement demonstrating how receiving such an internship might impact the development of your teaching practices with young children.

Selected students will be contacted via email and invited for an interview prior to final selection.

Students may apply at any time. Selections will be made by October 1st for Fall semester and by December 15th for the Spring Semester.
