Crime Blotter:

11/9/09 – 1100-1200 Hours

PC 488 Petty Theft – A female student had her purse stolen while studying in the 1st floor of the Library study area. The purse was later discovered in the Library 1st floor men’s restroom with all the cash and a prescription bottle missing. The victim believes her purse was stolen when two male subjects distracted her with loud yelling. As always be aware of your surroundings and property. 11/10/09 – 1850 Hours

VC 12500(a) No Driver’s License, VC 21453(a) Red Light –A male driver failed to stop for a red light and almost caused an accident. The driver was issued a misdemeanor citation for not having a valid drive’s license and running the red light. Charges were filed with the Orange County District Attorney’s office - NFD

11/2/09 – 1523 Hours

PC 594 Malicious Mischief – Vending machines located by the BGS and TAS buildings were broke into and product and money was stolen. Anyone with information regarding this incident please call Campus Police at 949-582-4585.

11/3/09 – 941 Hours

Information – A female student reported being verbally assaulted after she parked in a parking stall that another student was waiting for – NFD

11/3/09 – 2215 Hours

BP 25608(a)(15) Possession of Alcohol on Campus – Several underage male subjects were found drinking on campus and were detained until their parents could take them home – NFD

11/4/09 – 1200 Hours

A 290 registrant failed to register with Campus Police before attending classes, as required by law for sex offenders. The subject was arrested and misdemeanor charges filed with the Orange County District Attorney’s office. The subject was instructed not to return to the campus until his 290 restrictions were established and permission given by the VP of Student Affairs – NFD

11/4/09 – 2230 Hours

Information – A male custodian reported that he was assaulted by his supervisor. The subject did not want to file charges and the incident was reported to the Maintenance Manager – NFD

11/5/09 – 950 Hours

Information – A disturbed female student verbally assaulted a male student. The incident was reported to the VP of Student Affairs – NFD

902T – Non-Injury Traffic Accident – Campus Police assisted in exchange of information – NFD

10/29/09 – 1530 Hours

PC 487(a) Grand Theft – A female student had her laptop computer stolen while she was in the library. Campus Police was able to determine the person responsible for the theft by a notebook that left at the scene. The suspect, who admitted to the theft, was arrested for felony theft and possession of stolen property and booked into the Orange County jail. The case was also filed with the Orange County District Attorney’s office. NFD

10/29/09 – 2044 Hours

PC 415.5 Disturbing the Peace, PC 594 Malicious Mischief – A female student was accosted by her estranged husband and her cell phone was damaged during the incident. The victim did not want to file charges. Campus Police recommended that she file a restraining order for her safety and suggested she utilize the escort service while on campus – NFD

PC 594(a) Malicious Mischief – Student Service Center room 212 and 213 were vandalized by unknown person(s) during a dance. Anyone with information regarding this incident please call Campus Police at 949-582-4585.

Information – A spectator at a Gaucho baseball game had his vehicle damaged, in lot 5A, when a baseball was hit out of the baseball park – NFD

Information – A female instructor had her vehicle spit on by unknown person(s) several times while parked in lot #8, by the library. Campus Police suggested she park by the Campus Police station and request an escort to her class – NFD

VC 12500(a) No Driver’s License – A male student stopped for not having a front license plate on his vehicle was arrested for not having a driver’s license. Misdemeanor charges were filed with the Orange County District Attorney’s office.

9/29/09 – 0830 Hours

VC 16025(a) Driver’s Duty to Exchange Information – A female student reported that she was involved in an accident in lot #9 and the other driver did not provide all the information required. Campus Police was able to contact the other driver and she provided the information required.

California’s “Driver’s Duty to Exchange Information” requires that all drivers involved in an accident, unless rendered unable, are to provide their driver’s license, vehicle, insurance, and contact information to the other driver before leaving the scene of an accident.

9/30/09 – 1750 Hours

VC 23103(b) Reckless Driving – A male driver was doing donuts (spinning a vehicle in circles) in parking lot # 1 with his girl friends vehicle. The driver was issued a misdemeanor citation for reckless driving and charges were filed with the Orange County District Attorney’s office – NFD

10/1/09 – 1254 Hours

Information – An unknown female driver ran over and damaged a crosswalk sign by lot # 14 and failed to report the incident to Campus Police – NFD

10/1/09 – 1745 Hours

PC 415 Disturbance – A female student was arguing with her boy friend in her vehicle in lot # 5. The male subject took her keys and refused to return them. Campus Police had to detain the male subject who resisted officers and he was released to his parents. NFD

Information Report – A female student informed Campus Police that she had strange comments posted on her Face Book page about being observed on campus by a male subject. Campus Police suggested she utilize the escort service on campus and report any additional face book entries – NFD

Information Report – A female student had posters with rude pictures and comments posted on campus. Campus Police investigated and the person responsible admitted to the postings and to additional incidents. Criminal charges pending – NFD

Information Report – A male student was discovered with a Texas driver’s license that was not his, said it was given to him by a friend. Texas Department of Public Service determined the license was not stolen and the student was cautioned about receiving property he had no knowledge of – NFD

PC 488 Petty Theft, PC 240/242 Assault & Battery – Female student had her phone stolen from her purse. When the victim confronted the female suspect she was assaulted by the suspect. The suspect was arrested and a criminal complaint filed with the Orange County District Attorney’s office – NFD

925C – Suspicious Person – A female student reported being followed and stared at by an unknown male. The incident has occurred several times on campus. Campus Police escorted the student to and from her classes and filed a report of the incident. – Follow up required.

The driver complained of pain and Orange County Fire Authority paramedics were called. The driver refused treatment or transportation to the hospital and was released - NFD

female instructor tripped over carpet and fell injuring her leg. The instructor was treated by the Saddleback College nurse and released – NFD

Male student that lost feeling in his arm was transported to Mission Hospital by Campus Police – NFD

PC 488 Petty Theft – Male student left his cell phone in village men’s restroom and when he returned the phone was gone. The cell phone was not turned into lost and found. Keeping found property that is not yours is a crime. Please turn in all found property to Campus Police. Thank you.

8/26/09 – 0814 Hours

HS11350 – Found Controlled Substance – An instructor found a bag he thought contained drugs in his classroom and turned them into Campus Police. Campus Police and the Orange County Sheriff Department field tested the contents of the bag and determined there were several kinds of illegal drugs in the bag. – FR

8/26/09 – 1155 Hours

Information Report – A female student discovered that her cell phone was missing after attending a class in the art building. She did not know if the phone was stolen or lost. – NFD

8/26/09 – 1700 – 1900 Hours

902M - Medical Aid – A female staff person fell into a counter at child care. She was treated by the Orange County Fire Authority paramedics and transported to Mission Hospital – NFD

8/25/09 – 1136 Hours

902M – Medical Aid – A female student passed out in class and was taken to the Saddleback College Health Center. Nurses treated the student for flu like symptoms and she was released. NFD

8/26/09 – 1304 Hours

902M – Medical Aid – A female instructor with back pain was treated at the Saddleback College Health Center and released. NFD

8/26/09 – 1400 Hours

902C – Vehicle Fire – A gray Isuzu Trooper caught fire in lot #5. Campus Police battled the blaze with fire extinguishers until the Orange County Fire Authority arrived to put the fire out. The owner of the vehicle had her vehicle removed from campus on Friday. The cause of the fire is unknown. – NFD

8/26/09 – 1425 hours

902M – Medical Aid – A male student with chest pain and shortness of breath was treated by Orange County Fire Authority paramedics and Saddleback College nurse then transported to Mission Hospital by ambulance. NFD

PC 459 Burglary – Unknown suspects cut a chain link fence and burglarized a horticulture storage area – FR

VC 22654© Authority for moving an abandon vehicle – A golf cart that was abandoned in traffic lanes was impounded for storage by Quality Towing, after Campus Police and the Orange County Sheriff Department were unable to determine the owner of the vehicle. The golf cart was not reported stolen. - NFD

PC 647(f) Intoxicated in Public, PC 148(a) (1) Obstructing an Officer in the performance of his duties – Suspicious persons on campus after hours were approached by Saddleback College Police Officer. One person fled the area, the remaining person under the influence of alcohol resisted officer during the investigation. The subject, not a danger to himself or others, was warned and released.
