Saddleback College Invites High School Students Interested in Fashion Careers to a Day of Creative Workshops

On Friday, April 19th, Saddleback College’s Fashion Department will host Fashion á la Mode, Fashion and Interiors Industry Workshops and Runway Competition, a series of free workshops and competitions that will allow local high school students to experience college fashion courses. The event begins at 11:00 a.m. and ends at 6:00 p.m. and will include four one-hour workshops, group contests, and a fashion show.

Workshops will be taught by Saddleback College faculty and industry professionals, who will provide information on making fashion a viable career option.  All workshops will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the college’s Business and General Studies (BGS) building.

  • Dye Processes
  • Fabric Flower Hair Accessories
  • Fashion Styling
  • Fashion Blogging
  • Apparel Business
  • Sewing iPod Cases
  • Draping Half Scale
  • Fashion Illustration
  • Design a Room – Interiors
  • Color for Interiors

Following the workshops, students will have the opportunity to compete in team sewing contests and show their projects off in an art gallery and fashion show during an ice cream social.  Prior to the event, students can enter individual contests to be judged and shown before the event.
