Group Advisement
Counseling/Advisement sessions help students to determine their educational goal, plan a first semester schedule, and prepare a "Student Educational Plan". The Group Advisement session occurs after the student completes the assessment testing session or requests evaluation of Alternative Evidence. You must attend your Group Advisement session or take course APSY 1, APSY 140, or APSY 160 to complete the matriculation process.
Appointments for group advisements are made at the Matriculation Office SSC 225-B. You can also call the Matriculation Office (949.582.4970) to obtain an appointment. A student can only make a group advisement appointment after completing the assessment tests. Group Advisement sessions are usually located in room SSC-166 in the counseling office on the first floor.
A student may waive the Group Advisement session only if they have completed over 30 semester units of college course work, which includes English composition and mathematics courses. Students who have completed over 30 units and want to make an appointment with a counselor may call the Counseling Office, at 949.582.4572.
