English and Math Placement Appeals & Challenges

English Placement Appeals

Women StudyingStudents may repeat the English assessment only after one year has passed. If the student believes that the placement recommendation is not indicative of his/her abilities, the student may appeal their English placement by taking the writing sample test. The writing sample is a test where the student will read a prompt and write a short essay. If the student elects to take the writing sample test, it will be the one and only time they can appeal their English placement results.

  • You have to wait one full year before you can take the English placement exam again.
