Introduction to Curriculum

The study of developmentally appropriate practices and the role of play in the areas of curriculum, guidance, and learning environments for early childhood education.  Students will develop skills in writing basic activity plans and participate at an introductory level with young children ages three to five years. Lab Placements:

The Saddleback Child Development Center is the primary location for the lab hours.  Local Mentor Teacher sites are the alternative.

Other locations may be approved by instructor. Students must submit an Alternative Site Placement Request during the first week of class in order to have their request considered (Deliver to my office BGS 115, scan and attach to an email, or mail to me at 28000 Marguerite Pkwy Mission Viejo, CA 92692)

Incomplete requests will not be considered.

Proof of negative TB results are a requirement for beginning lab hours.  If you already have a negative test that is good through the duration of the course, take a copy to the health center and they will give you a clearance slip to bring to the first meeting of class. Otherwise appointments may be made with the Saddleback Student Health Center to have your test done a no charge.
