Counseling Services Frequently Asked Questions
How do I begin?
- Step I - Application - On Line Application or
Complete an application at the Office of Admissions & Records Room SSC102. Students who have attended previous colleges are encouraged to have their transcripts mailed to the Office of Admissions & Records, Saddleback College Mission Viejo, CA 92692-3635. The information on these transcripts may then be used in a counseling appointment to effectively plan coursework at Saddleback College. Students are also encouraged to bring their "unofficial" transcripts to counseling appointments.
- Step II - Orientation
The Division of Counseling Services & Special Programs offers an online orientation which provides an excellent beginning to your college career. The Online Orientation process begins when the yellow button to the left is clicked.
- Step III - Matriculation
At the time the application is filed, matriculation testing will be scheduled. Students are encouraged to complete the Assessment testing in English, Math and Reading. The results of the assessments are essential for appropriate course enrollment.
- Step IV - Group Advisement
Students may register for their Group Advisement session immediately following their assessment session. You must attend your Group Advisement session or take course APSY 1, APSY 140, or APSY 160 to complete the matriculation process. Advisements are done in groups and provide information on:
