OC Bridge 2 Engineering

The Orange County Bridge 2 Engineering Program is a small learning community at Saddleback College that seeks to increase the number of students in the engineering fields. Women, veterans, and minorities are encouraged to apply. Program participants will take classes together, receive academic counseling, tutoring, intensive math preparation, and paid engineering internships. Participants will also be prepared to transfer to a four year engineering program (CSU Fullerton, UC Irvine) to continue their academic pathway.

Academic and Social Support

Math Prep: Bridge to Calculus

  • Complete 2 years of Math courses in 1 year!

  • Preparation for Calculus in Fall 2014

  • Priority Registration in Math Classes

  • Courses contextualized to Engineering

Engineering Institute & Engineering Internships

  • Participate in interactive Summer Engineering Institute to receive hands on experience and knowledge of careers in Engineering.  

  • Receive Paid internship opportunities

Participants Will:

  • Transfer to a 4 year Engineering Program (CSU Fullerton, UC Irvine, Cal Poly Pomona, etc.)

  • Graduate with Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering 

  • Gain paid internships experience to improve future  job prospects

Program Requirements

  • Interested in Engineering, Math or related field of study

  • Full-time student at Saddleback College or Santa Ana College in Academic Year 2013-2014

  • Actively Participate in all Program Activities

  • Women, Veterans, and Minorities Encouraged to apply
