Welcome to the Faculty Center for Student Success  (BGS 249)

The Faculty Center for Student Success provides faculty workshops and training that promote excellence in teaching to ensure the highest level of student learning both inside and outside of the classroom.

Workshop topics include:

  • Use of Blackboard in both online and face-to-face classes
  • Instructional design support for online classes
  • Ways to incorporate instructional technology in your classes, including the latest technologies
  • Best teaching and learning practices specific to all learning modalities
  • Class assessment practices and skills
  • Strategies to address basic skills needs of students in your classes
  • Other topics related to teaching and learning

Workspace and Lounge:  The Center offers both a workspace and lounge area for any full-time and part-time faculty members who wish to stop by to work and simply relax.

Summer 2014 Faculty Coordinator - Faculty Center for Student Success

During Summer 2014, Kathy Damm will serve as our Center Coordinator.  She has a wealth of knowledge in pedagogy and best teaching practices in both online and traditional classroom instruction.  Her primary responsibilities will be to support faculty with their instructional needs, including how to create and/or effectively update their C2 forms for Curriculum approval.

Upcoming Events

Summer Orientations for All New Full-time or Part-time Faculty

We will be offering New Faculty Orientations to all part-time faculty members and any new full-time faculty members during Summer 2014.  The focus of these orientations will be to provide a general overview of Saddleback College and its resources to faculty.  The presenters will include both faculty and staff from the Center.  To register, go to Summer 2014 New Faculty Orientations.
