A strong network of resources, both inside and outside the college, supports the students, faculty and staff of the Honors Program.
The Saddleback College Transfer Center partners with the Honors Program to ensure students are qualified to participate in the Honors transfer agreements. The Transfer Center's mission is "to ensure a transfer culture by providing resources and counseling services to empower students so they can achieve their desired transfer goal and career objective." It is the home office of Honors Program counselors. These specialists are experts in the Honors Program transfer agreements, and they assist Honors students with major preparation as well as Program and general education completion.
Note: Honors Program students must meet with a Transfer Center counselor every semester. Students who are working with another counselor must ALSO meet with the Transfer Center counselor.
Saddleback College Library Research Help Busted for citing Wikipedia? Perplexed by a Humanities 10 instructor saying something unintelligble about peer-reviewed journals? Wondering about the difference between a magazine and a journal? Knowing what a peer-reviewed journal is, but needing an article in one at 2 a.m.? This is the place for you.
Honors Program students in good standing are entitled to a free UCI library card. A research university's library is complex, and almost always virtually a labyrinth (and sometimes literally a virtual labyrinth). No other library will have ever prepared you for the experience. Use it before you transfer to survive after you do!
